Leeds forward Crysencio Summerville, valued at £30 million, is linked with a move to Liverpool and Chelsea. Elsewhere, Everton hope to land both Kalvin Phillips and Jack Harrison on loan for next season, and new Cheap Liverpool soccer Shirts manager Arne Slot may decide to sell defender Sepp van den Berg with Brentford, Wolfsburg, Ajax and more sides interested in the young defender.
Chelsea and Liverpool linked with Summerville
Leeds United may be forced to sell Crysencio Summerville this summer after they missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
The Telegraph reports that the 22-year-old is valued at about £30 million, and both Liverpool and Chelsea could be keen.
Leeds lost to Southampton in the final of the Championship play-offs.
The paper reports: "Leeds United are braced for bids this summer for Crysencio Summerville after failing to secure Premier League promotion, with Chelsea among the clubs with an eye on the Dutch forward.
Summerville, 22, was top-scorer for Daniel Farke’s team last season with 19 goals in the Championship but they could not get over the final hurdle of the play-off against Southampton at the weekend.
"Top-flight clubs are circling around Leeds’ talented players, knowing that losing in the play-offs is a financial Everton soccer Shirt blow, with Summerville expected to cost around £30 million in the current market.
"At Chelsea, he is among the young talent they have looked at, with the likes of Cole Palmer coming to Stamford Bridge following the arrival of the clubs new American owners.
"Summerville has been linked with Liverpool, with his former club Feyenoord seeing Arne Slot leave them for Anfield, although it is still uncertain whether Jurgen Klopp’s successor will look to buy Dutch players or other markets.
Everton plot two loan deals
Everton are looking to pull off two loan deals to strengthen their squad after avoiding relegation this season.
They are hoping to bring in Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Philips, and also want to keep Jack Harrison for a second season from Leeds.
The Independent claims: “Everton are interested in taking Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City next season.
“The Merseyside club hope the England midfielder, who spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, Arsenal soccer shirts will be allowed to leave the Etihad Stadium again on a temporary basis for the 2024-25 campaign.
“Phillips, a £42.5m signing from Leeds in 2022, has only started six games for City, just two of them in the Premier League, and featured for just 89 minutes in the top flight for them last season.
“They also hope to take Jack Harrison back on loan from Leeds for a second successive season, with their chances of securing a deal enhanced after Daniel Farke’s team lost Sunday’s Championship play-off final.”
Slot to weigh up Van den Berg’s future
Sepp van den Berg could be sold in the summer as new manager Arne Slot decides where the defender’s future lies.
A loan spell at Mainz has aided his reputation, and Brentford, Southampton, Ajax and Wolfsburg are said to be interested in acquiring the young Dutchman.
The Mirror reports: “Sepp van den Berg's future at Liverpool is up in the air until Arne Slot officially takes over as manager.
“Slot has been appointed as the successor to Jurgen Klopp and will be in place from the start of pre-season. The Dutchman is facing a number of decisions over his squad once he does arrive at Anfield.
“Van den Berg is one of the players who a decision will need to be made on. The defender impressed for Mainz during his loan spell with the Bundesliga side over the season just gone.
“He made 36 appearances in all competitions, helping the club recover from a tough start to secure a mid-table finish. But while he has starred out on loan, his future back at Liverpool is uncertain.
“Brentford, Southampton, Wolfsburg and Ajax are all in the running to sign him, with the latter holding a long-standing interest in the 22-year-old. Liverpool are holding firm on their £20m valuation as it 'reflects current market trends'.”
